Gwydion Suilebhan is a DC-based playwright, theater blogger, and digital communications strategist. He is the author of Reals, Abstract Nude, The Constellation, Let X, The Faithkiller, Cracked, The Great Dismal, and Buggy & Tyler. At TEDxMichiganAve, Gwydion examines the arts ecosystem and how technology is breaking down barriers and turning the entire system on its head.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

if art needs to be debated to be understood, if it is easy to produce but difficult to understand then it is not high art. Even a child can look upon great art and appreciate its obvious superiority to that which is called " art" in this day and age.

The YouTube Community has been the greatest artistic community I have ever known. It has been like participating in a Fellini movie. I have interacted with amateur filmmakers, actors, comedians, trolls, former glamor rock stars, viral video geniuses, schizophrenics, writers, drama queens, and eccentrics. I am writing a play about some of the YouTube drama I have personally witnessed.

@Dansilverbabe Great, explain why my friend got better grades in art school by splashing pain on charred paper bags than when she spent hours and hours painting out what enjoys painting, mainly her friends dancing.. She showed her trash bags that she put no thought, heart or anything into it and she was praised. Showing a painting of her dancing sister and it was called cliche and trashy. So, you tell me, is art in line with the way non artists think?

The problem I see with art is that art, more and more separated from world around them. Sorry but when you say random splashes of paint is more art than say a painting of a woman...
