Renewable energy
Solar Thermal plants. Pakistan has the most salt in the world.

Biogas plants. Pakistan has one of the highest number of cattle to human population ratio.

It can also be done from sewage waste sludge.

China is a close friend who should help with cheaper Solar panels!

Many other renewable options are available.

However the govt has made deals with oil and gas companies for many years to come.

They will never suggest such alternatives.

Without getting into complex terminology please do few simple things.1- Make Kalabagh dam (those who can glue 18 different parties for regime change operation, can very easily convince these goons to develop consensus on kalabagh)
2- Use the best available solar irradiation for solar thermal energy.U.S. has developed SEG.Modal and Spain has developed ANDASOL. Not a complicated tech.
3- use the air power available at our 1000 km. long coastline to harness energy through wind mills.
4- Ask china to invest into manufacturing of solar panels in Pakistan.
5- pay attention to develop our local coal reservoirs.
6- don't forget our canal system's potential to produce electricity.
7- invest more in oil and gas exploration.
8- Pay attention to your distribution system i.e. line losses theft and worn out equipment.
to me these are the basics we need to do.

One thing is clear that Pakistan does not have a will to develop and deliver. It’s a cultural problem. You guys are stuck and confuse among being modern or follow Islam.

Coal energy might be best solution. Half of energy created in the US is from coal. Check it out.
