That's because positive male role models have vanished. When I was growing up I had positive real male role models, my father and my uncles, my school teachers and my coaches.
What's more, the television and the movie industry, almost, I'm going to say 85% of the males depicted, were positive role models. Baa Baa Black Sheep, Andy Griffith, Happy Days, The six million Dollar Man, etc etc. Positive male role models in the television and movie industry vanished decades ago. It's a real problem.

My wife who isn't going to be much longer went to a major university unlike myself but I'm the one who has always supported us. Even when I begged her to use her degrees she refused. Guess I'll pay her the rest of my life.

I'm 78 and a high school dropout. I've always been an avid reader on a variety of topics. I have more knowledge and understanding of history than most college "educated " people. Most don't know who won the Civil War or WWII. Have no idea of the participants of or who won WWII. Some of their answers to questions I could answer in the 4th grade are frightening . I made a good career for. myself in sales and sales management and operations management without a degree. It's just a piece of paper for many. Fortunately my granddaughter is an exception. She has a degree from an excellent college and is building a career in the medical field. She's a CMT and studying to be an RN with an eye toward being a pediatric nurse. Too many students have useless degrees in subjects that have little to no chance of providing a well paying job.

Why are men being killed vs. women? Is it because of gang involvement? Why are women being killed? Is it because of domestic abuse? Important to consider, not simply statistics.

Yeah I stopped going to college because the female teachers were grading me harder than the women and I even got into a debate with one of the teachers where I got her to admit that she was failing me because I reminded her to much of her x husband.

I have a problem with the "men are falling behind" argument. You can't say someone is falling behind if they aren't playing the same game. Women are playing a game men checked out of a long time ago.
