How To Disable Text Message Popup Head & Window On Android

Показать описание
If you have an android device you have likely noticed that new inbound text messages have a round head icon appear on top of any program you are currently running, and that when you click that head icon it pops up a small texting window.

For many people this texting "enhancement" is frustratingly small and so they want to turn it off.  This is easy to do but it is not in the obvious location.  We expected to turn on / off popup text windows in the "Messaging" app but found it was not there.

Fix small popup window for text messages in Android devices like our Samsung Galaxy S9 S10 S20 and S20FE

OMG I've been looking for that setting forever! I thought it was a cool feature when it first came out, but then became increasingly annoying...

Oh thank you! The pop up bubble just started for me, and it bugged me so much! My settings aren't the same as yours (old phone I guess), but I just searched advanced features - found floating notifications. Super Happy!

Update: I just went in and got rid of that. I think your information must have helped me. Thank you. I am not even sure what I did. It was different from what you did because my phone is not the exact same model but something you said must have directed me in the right direction. I am going to like your video right now.

I don't know how that little text bubble popped up on my phone, but it was driving me crazy. Thanks for making this video.

Okay. These are not the same settings that I have. The "smart pop-up view" is NOT located under my Advanced Features. There has to be another way. Please help me find it. This is driving me crazy

I'm using the Messages app on android 10 and I had to open Messages then go to settings, notifications and toggle off other notifications. Then when the phone is on do not disturb mode the window no longer pops up :-D

For my Pixel, I had to turn off bubble notes in the messaging app. This video is older now so maybe it changed or possibly differs from phone to phone

On some models of phones and some versions of Android, this setting is going to be called something different than what this video shows, for example on Motorola phones, it's probably called "Bubble Notifications", or some variation with the word "Bubbles" in it.

How do I get rid of the annoying pop-up at the top of the screen telling me I have a new message? I simply want the number on the icon and a notification in my pull down.

This is driving me crazy! Smart pop up view doesnt come up for me, and my floating notifications are already off. But everytime I get a preview message up top, I instinctively want to swipe down my notifications and open it but instead that dumb pop up comes up. So annoying.

I have an LG phone and the settings are different on mine. I actually have to go into the chat bubble in the lower-left there's a place to click and turn off the bubbles
