Electric today is perfect for lot trucks, pretty good for short/in town hauls too, but only once the charging infrastructure is set up. Clearly, long haul is a no-go.

Honestly I'm glad it just looks like a normal truck, and still has the grill and everything. A lot of people, including myself think the new futuristic looking concepts are ugly as shit, and we'd never want to drive one. I wouldn't be opposed to driving this truck, but I really enjoy actually shifting gears and listening to engine noises, so I'll always want a diesel.

Diesel fuel is my number one choice, along with a manual transmission, older the better

They are neat for around town light duty like linen service, convenient store deliveries, grocery store supplies etc. Light local cargo hauling since you don’t have a big range to travel and no worries about charging as you’ll do that back at the warehouse when truck isn’t making deliveries.

As of right now diesel is more reliable, eventhough the price of fuel is outrageous.

Glad you finally mentioned the terrible range. Seems like everybody just ignores the fact that these things have about a quarter of the range of most of the semis. Also not to mention in Tesla's you have to change the battery out every 3 years and that cost $22, 000 so I almost don't want to know what a new battery would cost on one of these. Definitely gives me hope for diesels

Here's a thought:
When electric cars are in crashes the batteries sometimes catch fire. It can take several thousand gallons of water to put them out and they may burn for several hours before they get extinguished. Now that semi battery is going to be 20 to 30 times bigger. How long do you think one of these will burn? A day or two?

This will be great when, and only when they have the ability to easily remove the batteries, and get a freshly charged battery at the center you go to, so you have the ability to keep stopping at any of your companies distribution centers to get charged batteries in less than 10 minutes.

I really hope they install external speakers so on routes that need to be done in towns (which is what they would be best suited for) you don't end up having pedestrians not notice it's there and walk in front of it and have the driver not be able to see them due to the geometry of the truck and end up hurting someone.

You should pick a diesel truck anyway because one of my friends got in a tesla accident and it caught on fire because everything in there was just battery and it was a really really hot electrical fire that was over 2000° and melted the whole car and he couldn’t get out because he was crushed in there just imagine a big semi truck hitting another semi truck how bad that would be hauling 70, 000 pounds

Fast doesn’t matter for long haul but around town you’ll save 20-30 minutes a day just from stop and go.
