Both are pretty close.

-The Adams have more perceived detail due to its earlier low end roll off and the AMT tweeter has an amazing transient response.

- The MTM has amazing low end extension for its size, better separation, imaging and directivity.

As much as I love Adam I would still pick the MTM due to its versatility, it has room correction built in, a better DSP, a better amplifier, can be mounted on microphone stands, it's also has a smaller profile. The only advantage the Adam has over the MTM it's the front port.

I used to own the Adam A3X for almost 10 years and have just replaced them with the iLouds. The difference is night and day. The Adams are pleasant to listen to, but I don't necessarily consider that to be a good thing since my mixes never translated well to other systems. The Adams boost the low end while actually lacking a big portion of frequencies below 60 Hz with quite a lot of dispersion overall. The iLouds, on the other hand, finally reveal frequencies that I formerly could only guess. THERE IS ONE CATCH, THOUGH: if you set the high pass to 40 Hz, it works great for most genres like classical music, indie, rock, and pop, but I had very weird noises coming out of the speakers today when listening to bass-heavy rap like Drake or 21 Savage. It sounded like the speaker is broken while the calibration mode was on. When I turned it off, the noises disappeared, but I could still hear the chassis vibrate even at lower volumes. For that kind of music, you should turn the HP filter to 50 Hz. I still love my new monitor speakers, and I don't think there is anything similar in that price range for small rooms with difficult acoustics. I hope they will last a long time.

No doubt the Ik MTM is definitely closer to the original source, I'm sorry for ADAM but in this case, for a professional monitor use Ik wins hands down.
It is not a matter of taste, if you have to work you have to hear what exists on the track as accurately as possible,
Don't forget that taste matters little for good mixing, you have to listen to what you do, and that's the real value.
I read many comments about detail and transparency, but this is irrelevant, you fix the detail in the headphones if you work seriously, thinking about defining the detail from the monitors is pure madness, unless you have a professional studio with complete acoustic treatment, which is impossible for those like us.

I love your comparisons! Could you please compare the Adam F7 and Adam T7V? I've been looking for a good comparison but there's no one, I think you are the only who can give them justice!

Hello, I am writing to you since I follow you on YouTube and I have seen almost all your monitor comparison videos for a long time since I am setting up my home studio and it was time to buy a pair of monitors, if I told you that I only have 800 EUROS, (I am from Spain) which would be the ideal monitor for me? I am dedicated to rap hip hop r & b, and I have been very tempted by the ik iloud mtm since I can take them everywhere and apart they can be calibrated but we are also new focal alpha evo and the adam a5x there are so many options that I am involved, I hope you can help me. I appreciate it and I await your answer. Thank you.

Adam Audio T5V vs IK Multimedia iLoud MTM

The A3X seems more transparent and detailed with smoother highs, but bottom end is totally missing compared to the MTM. Listening through Genelec 8040As. If I need to choose between the two, I'd take the MTM as it also has calibration tools out of the box. Both are nearly excellent monitors tho.

The adams sound good but the mtm’s sound clearer and has more separation. I would think at least for mixing purposes the mtm’s are better, if it was just to play music or entertainment I would probably go adams over mtm’s

My iloud MTMs are great! Closer to the source material. I like a few of the Adams series. However, the Adam A3Xs sound like they've been put into a box, the soundfield has been squished shorter, and the upper mids are hyped. Check out Man On Fire. The hats and cymbals are NOT supposed to be that loud on the A3Xs even though the frequency response shows they aren't. My MTMs are calibrated -- are the ones in the video self-calibrated? Just curious. I still prefer the MTMs in the video... although I am listening through MTMs to MTMs.... MTMception...

iLoud MTM / Eve Audio SC203 ?? might be a good showdown

It's funny that they sound so different in treble having such a similar curve ... perhaps the lack of bass on the A3X makes the treble stand out more in the tonal balance.

A3X sounds more nice and flat for me but on iloud we have all subbass, on A3X at 50Hz great highpass filter thus idk wich one i choose lol ....

I've had the a5x and the MTMs in my studio, the MTMs are a by far and away the winners. The response is insane and they go really low, especially if you don't listen at stupid volumes. As soon as you use the dsp with the MTMs they just become a different class of speaker.

ADAM sounds boxy in comparison + too dry. MTM has meat but MID's are missing somehow.

i had the A3x and the A5 . Both i sold after a few months. I never managed to fall in love with the AMT tweeter somehow.
Always end up enjoying traditional Dome tweeters more. It is as if the AMT is trying 2% too hard to show its talents. I find it fatiquing in the long run. Havent tried the Expensive adam series but i much prefer the neumann kh series. I quess its a matter of taste like everything else. The MTM has impressive bass extension at first listen but in my experience this comes at a cost of maximum spl. Its the same like when manufacturers try to get every extra db of pressure out of an 8 inch sub. There are physical limits. But all in all both the MTM and the A3X are great and decent "entry to the real stuff" speakers. The A3x sounds a bit less stressed and transients less forced. The MTM sounds like a small 2.1 system. Impressive but when such small woofers try too much in the subbass it is only natural that it will make them slower in transient response and increase overall distortion. But if you think of what speakers we had 20 years ago it is impressive where things are going.

First track: thought at last, some successful Adams. But in second track an ultimate failure in rendering the voice.
Mtm is a f beast tho.
Adam sound as if they have +9dB at 4kHz. Tho in formal measurement is unseen.

iloud have better dynamic but also a very own sound signature.

i´d go with the iLouds for this one. they just feel more neutral to me.
