Moderate restoration of a Kindjal dagger

The blade of this Kindjal was covered in pitting and the hilt was unstable with missing silver mounts. The dagger itself would not go further than a few inches into the scabbard as there was a blockage and the wooden core had warped. We managed to clear up and produce a high finish to the blade removing alot of the pitting. We then reproduced silver mounts for the hilt and mechanically attached them. The scabbard needed to be stripped apart and totally reconditioned and covered in vintage leather for a period correct finish.

Hey there, wootz militaria. I recently got a wootz shamshir (tentatively ID'd as a Assad Allah al isfahani - the signature is partially rubbed off from sharpening and polishing over the years). This will be my second wootz sword, and by far my oldest (1580-1628).

Anyway, it's scabbard is damaged and likely won't clear customs, being wood with signs of contamination etc. Do you know of anyone who does shamshir scabbards?

Anyway, big fan of your work. If I ever need one of my wootz swords fixed up, it'll go straight to you guys

Is this a Laz/Pontian, or Abkhazian dagger, or is it from North Caucasus?
