Abstract
Face recognition is the task of identifying an already detected object as a known or unidentified face. Often the problem of face recognition is confused with the problem of face detection Face Recognition on the other hand is to determine if the "face" is someone known, or unknown, using for this purpose a database of faces to validate this input face. Automatic recognition of people is a challenging problem that has received much attention during recent years due to its many applications in different fields. Face recognition is one of those challenging problems and up to date, there is no technique that provides a robust solution to all situations.
