Έτσι, όπως αναφέρουν ξένα μέσα ενημέρωσης και κυρίως Ισραηλινά, όπως η ιστοσελίδα ynetnews, μετά την αποψινή ενημέρωση του υπουργικού συμβουλίου ασφαλείας, από τον πρωθυπουργό Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου, ότι το Ισραήλ απέρριψε και επίσημα την πρόταση της Χαμάς για εκεχειρία, η οποία προωθήθηκε διαμέσου του ρωσικού υπουργείου εξωτερικών, το συμβούλιο, αποφάσισε και ενέκρινε ένα σχέδιο εντατικοποίησης των στρατιωτικών επιθέσεων εναντίον της Χαμάς και των στόχων της Ισλαμικής Τζιχάντ στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, δείχνοντας έτσι ότι το Ισραήλ έχει πάρει πάρα πολύ σοβαρά, τις σφοδρές επιθέσεις που δέχτηκε από την Χαμάς και οι οποίες έσπειραν τον τρόμο στους πολίτες του.
