Coming back here to say that when I first heard this song the lyrics hit me so hard that decided I couldn’t listen to it anymore. My faith was so fragile at the time (grew up Mormon) and I was so insecure about it that I felt like this song was somehow out to get me. I decided to leave my faith last year. It was a challenging time but I’m thankful for this song and other nickel creek/punch brothers songs that got me through.

Possibly the best song he's ever written. What an amazing talent.

Long lonely nights in LA. This song gives me the most peaceful feelings of melancholy while reminiscing on my wonderful spiritual upbringing in the piney piedmont regions of NC.

This album came out my freshman year of college. “Doubting Thomas” resonated with me in way that few songs ever have, especially at that time in my life. Beautiful rendition!

The last several lines are my favorite in the whole song. They're the most hopeful and most honest and are the real resolution to the feelings expressed in the song: "Please give me time to decipher the signs, please forgive me for time that I've wasted.

I'm a doubting Thomas. *I'll take your promise, though I know nothing is safe.* Oh me of little faith."

I especially love the line, "I'll take your promise, though I know nothing is safe." Doing that is an act of faith. By coming to the conclusion that you will take God's promises and act on them, even if you don't fully understand or comprehend them, it's powerful and is the definition of faith. If I met someone who expressed the feelings of this song to me, I would tell them that they are not "of little faith." I would tell them that they are in the process of building and confirming their faith.

I never knew this was a Christian song although the lyrics make sense now. What a relatable and honest song.

This song meant a lot to me when I was slowly losing my god belief. It helped me to realize that it really was okay to let it go. Thanks, Chris.

I remember when this album came out. My grandfather who I lived with was dying of cancer. This song reminded me of him. Not that he was weak…… that he was facing death so graciously and left his mark on me and my family forever.

I was in seminary with a friend going through his crisis of faith. we played this song together in the empty chapel at night. it was devastating at the time. he got through it. now its my turn.

Gorgeous song, I've listened to it a half dozen times or more already. Chris's voice is so pure on this one and when Aoife comes in on backing vocals, ... gasp. Knocked out.

I'd never heard this song before this recent broadcast. Those are amazing lyrics! Glad they were changed. Doubt is a much more interesting concept to me than faith.
