In serbian the song with the same melody is :"Ruse kose curo imaš!". In greek its Eskoutari/ Apo tin poli eimai egw. So, when you don't know something, it doesn't mean that everyone else is ignorant. :)

”Kırım harbinde müttefiklerimiz olan İngilizler, Fransızlar ve Sardunyalıların orduları İstanbul’dan geçmişti. Selimiye kışlası da bu Avrupalı müttefiklerimizin emrine hastane olarak verilmişti. İngiliz ordusunda bir de İskoç alayı vardı: meşhur gaydaları ve pantolon yerine kısa etek giyen İskoçyalılar, İstanbulluların pek tuhafına gitmişti. Ve halk bu garip kıyafetli yabancılara, ”donsuz asker“ lakabını takmıştı. İskoç alayı şarka hareket ederken, bir İskoçyalı bestekar, bu alay için hususi bir marş bestelemişti. Bu marşın bestesi bizim Katibim türküsünün nağmeleridir.
