I am a voodoo and hoodoo practitioner here in New Orleans. And I am so glad that you used the word "rootworker." Because although most people around the world think that Marie Laveau practiced voodoo, the story that has been passed down amongst the local black spiritual community here in New Orleans is that she was actually a very powerful Hoodoo Practitioner, Conjurer, and Rootworker, which is a little different from Voodoo.🙂

My siblings and I went to NOLA a couple years ago. We did a cemetery tour and a walking tour. Marie Laveau has a tomb in St Louis Cemetary 1...we were told that she did have a lot of children and all of the girls were named after her and some looked/dressed like her due to the fact she had haters that meant to do her harm. So the story goes that people could never really know her whereabouts because they all saw "Marie Laveau" in different places around NOLA.

One of her great great-nieces still lives in Southern Louisiana and is very powerful in the craft of voodoo.

Nola ⚜️This randomly popped up on my feed! She is my great aunt before I knew much about her is because my family would always say she was evil and harmed people so I would never tell anyone I was related to her because of fear of judgment this was through my childhood and early 20’s now that I’ve been doing my own self healing and finding out more about my lineage I have been proud to say that this is my great great aunt and she is with me guiding me!!!! Everyone calls me the voodoo girl but they don’t know about Marie. It’s a healing powerful energy that I have. I can get anyone to do anything for me just out of love and light! I have broken the chains and I stand strong in my power!!! I am doing a alter for her ✨❤️❤️I’m a Virgo too!

From what I read somewhere online, Marie Laveau was said to be the daughter of a White Man of French European origin and a Free Colored mother who was of African, French, and Choctaw Native American heritage. Because she had majority European lineage and was fair skinned, she was said to have "good features ". In other words, those who were racist and/or colorists viewed one having dark skin and of African origin as being inferior.

I've always been drawn to Mama Levau. She was brilliant, beautiful and benevolent. I had the privilege of meeting one of her descendants. She had the gift, but if afraid to use it. Sad. The world needs her light. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information and I'm now following you and enjoying learning and awakening to my spiritual walk. Asè

I’m here because I walk into my local Conjure store to buy candles, and it was a Marie Laveau candle 🕯️ that called to me. Never heard of her. Now I see why. I’m intrigued to know more.

I often think about her after I watched the video. I read a book about the different Orishas, goddess and voodoo queens ect. She was in the book it was informative. I’m actually watching this video for a second time (she’s on my mind a lot) my spirit is also being called to New Orleans. I’m still new on my journey and have so much more to learn

Why don't we just have The Baron ask Marie Laveau herself about the information we're unsure about? Maybe part of his new series🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ if possible. I've always been curious and nosey about her.

I’m intrigued with the stories about her power. I even heard that even today one can go to her crypt and ask for favors as long as you bring her gifts. One of my dream trips is New Orleans but I will not go to her place of rest.

Finally a black woman telling the story. The white women people here don’t tell it right - I had to click of all the videos and found this one. We should be telling OUR stories.

I also heard on Mystery of the Museums that ppl would say that her hair shop gossip was the reason why she knew everyone's buzns . I know they are afraid to admit that a blk woman could be so powerful they just wanted to discredit her skills. U are absolutely 💯 correct. They never gv credit where credit is due to a person of color.

I kept hearing the name Anna Marie Laveau several times as I was waking up. So I decided to look into her, my left ear rang when I came across this video. I’ve also had a dream of my past life laying down with two other women on each side of me..then we were all lit a blaze 🔥🔥🔥 as I was burning it didn’t hurt, but I felt empowered asè

Love love love your content❤. I visited new Orleans last month for mardi gra. While i was there i visited marie laveau house of voodoo, the energy i felt when i went inside was unspeakable. Very heavy energy i almost felt like i would pass out being an empath. I did however love it i was able to get cowrie shells and a protective bracelet also a book Because of the energy i felt in the shop i wanted to get the $50 reading i ended headin up not making it back for the reading. I can wait to visit again, its now what i look forward to when going to new Orleans 💜💛💚 beautiful place full of culture & history cant get enough!
