Set in France in 1889, the film follows the life of Dodin Bouffant (Benoît Magimel) as a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie (Juliette Binoche). They share a long history of gastronomy and love but Eugénie refuses to marry Dodin, so the food lover decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.

This movie sucked me into the most enchanting atmosphere, encompassing my eyes to appreciate the art of gastronomy, cinema, and subtle acting until it moved me to tears at the sight of a dessert. I saw this last night. I absolutely loved it. It's a beautiful, gentle, subtle masterpiece. No giant sandworms making a ton of noise and nonsense. It's a movie about the power of love and the grace of being alive and the moments we get to share that make life magical and worth living. 10/10. Highly recommend.
