The Caddo Mounds State Historic Site is an archaeological gem offering a window into the Caddo culture that flourished in this East Texas area.Step through the new $2.5 million visitor center. Inside, explore immersive exhibits showcasing Caddo history, daily life, and artifacts such as pottery and stone tools. Wander into the reconstructed grass house, imagining daily life for the Caddo. Then explore the three earthen mounds, places of ritual and ceremonies.

Visitors can also walk along 0.4 miles of the Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail, seeing a section of the original road. There is also an additional 1.5 miles of scenic walking trails that include a pond, bird blind, prairie restoration areas, and picnic area.
