RiverFest at Sweeney's beach was a fun filled day of activities, music, food and drink, educational & environmental displays, vendors, and fun for all ages and abilities. Join us in 2022 for this annual celebration of the Lackawanna River, Pennsylvania’s 2020 River of the Year, and its watershed!
Saturday, September 25, 2021, the Lackawanna River, at Sweeney's Beach, was the site of RiverFest 2021. This annual festival draws the community outdoors to celebrate the valley and the river that runs through it. Since 1987, the LRCA has been working towards a revitalized river, bound by parks, with clean water and safe public access.
