Korine always does something amazing : combining equal parts Depeche Mode and New Order from '81-'88, with a dash of Cure seriousness, and lots of talent and creativity. And it all sounds seamless and natural. Totally underapreciated ! I mean, Ghost has done something similar for old-school hard-rock and heavy-metal and they're getting lots of well-deserved recognition.
