Can Valorant Impress a New Player in 1 Day? In a competitive gaming landscape full of Competitive Online Games, FPSs have a long history of success. Similar games like CS2 (CSGO?) sport massive tournaments and active player bases. But can Riot Games' take on the genre, Valorant, hook a player who has never played the game before? Today we will be delving into our first impressions with Valorant Gameplay to review its systems, Agents, and Tutorial to answer the question: Is Valorant actually any good? Or does its reputation do all the heavy lifting?

I still remember my first round. Got yelled at by "GothMommy", then added and invited to a FULL custom game right after where we just had fun. Honestly i was lucky, most others just get sweats in their first round

Actually a good habit to not ADS. ADS is only good in only a few situations. For the Vandal and Phantom, the two most used guns in the game, ADS 95% of the time is actually harmful as it reduces firerate. Guardian & Bulldog ADS is fine for long ranges, but short and medium range is usually not reccomended

As a general rule of thumb, a new player should learn to not ADS, then learn the exceptions

this has to be one of the best times to play valorant, all the problems you had with the tutorial were incredibly minor compared to what we used to have when valorants tutorial was just shooting bots.

Some tips for new players:
1. Don't ADS all the time.
2. Speaking of aiming, aim for the head if you can.
3. Use shift, but know when to run.
4. Check your corners. Do your best to not curve when turning. Rather treat corners like an angled shape.
5. Become an expert of 1 or 2 agents, and have back up agents/roles. But you'll need to have some working knowledge of the other agents so you can predict how they're played.
6. Don't buy the AFK schtick.
7. Get some crosshairs!

Love this video dude, as someone that has played valorant for around 2 years it's super interesting watching the newer player experience. Your commentary is super entertaining and funny too lol, hopefully you will do a part 2!

This is a really difficult game to get into without a friend to help you and goof off a bit while you learn to help take off any edge. Kudos for trying it out alone!!

4:30 you're supposed to hip fire guns, even at longer distances

Great video! You brought up some good points and I do hope Riot takes some of them into consideration. I think I disagree with the communities sentiment on "You have the Range, find out how the abilities work there" narrative, because while it is a good option to explore each agent, some abilities will not behave properly on bots. I agree that a visual demonstration in game would be very beneficial.

I also have been extremely worried that the game is putting out too many agents in the game. I think your confusion on the MANY abilities is certainly a huge reason. There is just too much going on and keeping up with it becomes a full time job for most higher level players.

Also, I noticed your comments on ADS, Valorant and CS have a different approach to the ADS mechanic compared to most other games, including the recent Fortnight Ballistic and other recent Tac FPS clones. There really is no real reason to use ADS in 90% of situations, it decreases fire rate in most guns and while giving a tighter spread and shrinking the first shot inaccuracy doesn't do anything that would help you win most Med-Long (25m-50m) duels. I'd stick to hip-firing and learning when to tap (Fire 1 shot), Burst (Fire around 3-5 bullets as they are the most accurate) or Spray (shooting the entire mag at the target).

Overall, I'm just glad you had a great time! Our community can be pretty toxic, but you seemed to handle it well! If you do continue on learning how to play this game, I'd recommend grabbing some friends and just play it casually for a while. I started around 4 years ago and I've enjoyed learning little things here and there to add to how I play!

Also, if you do eventually end up doing a CS video, I'd recommend giving the hip-firing tech a whirl, because CS2 has no sort of Scoping gun outside of the really expensive AR or Snipers. Which can really hurt your economy especially on the CT side! Once again, great video!

I had no tutorial back in the day. So I just went on a speedrun of competitive games. Lost a ton but learned a lot. Then learned the complexities and it's fun now. There are both kinds of people, ones who are calm and talk nicely and others who get angry really fast.
