I'm Indonesian.
I lost my green Tupperware lunch box when I was 9 years old, at grade 4 elementary school.
My mom interrogated me worst than those crime tv series on TV.. and she hasn't forgotten about it for the next 15 years of my life
What a traumatizing experience back then.
Life lesson: Never ever lost your Tupperware. Never.

Yalll bringing tupperware to school is a suicide mission man. I once lost it and my mum still talks about it after 15 years

Back in 3rd grade, I lost my pink Tupperware and my mother never shut up about it, even after 20 years later. BUT, I'm a little relieved that it's the only one she kept on talking about despite the countless others that I lost after that. So for her 60th birthday, I gave her a set of premium quality Tupperware that looks exactly the same as that one that she never stops nagging about, or at least as how I recall they looked like. She was so happy that she hugged me and she started crying. 10 minutes later, she started talking about the other ones...

EDIT - Thanks for all the likes! To anyone wondering- Yes, I am still gifting her with Tupperware and Pyrex containers to this day. I only get her the "replacements" for those that I can admittedly recall, not including the ones that she CLAIM that I lost. Every time I see that excited yet naughty grin on her sweet little face when I come to bring her a new set, I knew it was all worth it.

EDIT - So Mama passed away just this June. So now I'm left with all these containers that will never be filled with her cooking ever again. Still pretty unbelievable today that she's gone.
Mama, we never agreed on everything but I wanna believe that we loved each other the best that we could. I miss you everyday and I think about you all the time. I miss you so much.

To all non-Filipinos out there, this is not an exaggeration, Filipino moms will lose their minds if you lost the golden 'Tupperware'

My mom was like that too, and you know what's worse is she even studied psychology for college, hence her interrogation was twice as terrifying

Things Filipino parents value more than their kids:
-lunch boxes
-umbrellas
-report cards
-the family rooster

Whenever you lost a tupperware, umbrella, handkerchief, you will hear your mom's 2-hour yelling and her history as a child as well lol

For those confused, this is what tupperware means for Filipino moms:

1. “tupperware”- literally any plastic container you can put food in

2. good (don’t you dare lose it) tupperware:
ACTUAL food containers sold in the home section in stores e.g. lock and lock

3. the golden tupperware (lose it and you’re disowned):
pyrex

I am a FilAm, I was born and raised in the Philippines and got here in america when I was younger and settled down here in 2014. What Jokoy says on this video is so darn lol! I have the same momma, my mom is strict and a disciplinarian. I did a lot of silly things when I was little not overly crazy but typical kid shenanigans. I swear my mom would love to yell and scold me. She would hurt me at times but that is how she disciplined. She stopped spanking and hurting me when I was maybe 17 lol 😆. I turned out to be a decent person because of my strict upbringing, I am not saying that this is good and this is the only way to discipline your kids but it worked for me . Despite of her disciplinary ways, my mom has a heart of gold and a giving and helpful traits and that is the reason why I am thankful to my Filipino mother for my childhood upbringing.

When you open a Filipino family's freezer and see it full of ice cream containers chances are only one of them has actual ice cream.

I’m Filipino but I’m so thankful my mom prepared me the best lunches in school🥺 she would prepare them bento style and bought me Japanese styled lunch boxes that have second floors 🥰 my classmates would always stare at my food because it looked so well prepared. Nothing beats a lunch made by your mom with love 🥺❤️
