My favorite show growing up!
I've even done several videos on my YouTube channel related to the show. Great video, I really enjoyed it!

Was born in 1974, I loved this show! Didn't care much for knight rider ! Back then, as a boy growing up in a small rural N Calif town that flag had zero meaning to me ! I just loved the General Lee! And shout-out to Flash !😂loved that dog!

A wonderful show. That flag always meant you were a rebel not a racist

They weren't brothers they were cousins!

Still have my Hot Wheels diecast General Lee car with rebel flag and all. Can't imagine them selling that in stores nowadays. People have gotten too soft.

Not very long ago, I saw an interview with John Schneider where he told the story about James Best being BIG on gun safety on the set. It was fascinating!

I always looked forward to any scene that had Daisy in it.

Was a good funny, and goofy, lots of laughs a hot looking Daisy Duke and action.

A key thing is note is that the Dukes of Hazzard had absolutely zero racial bias. The rebel flag, as you see on the roof of the car, was NEVER, in itself, the official flag of the confederacy unlike what people have been lead to believe.

I was born in 1959 and loved watching this show. Plus the similarity to my last name was cool as well. Was this show cerebral in any way? Nope, not at all. But it was really fun to watch. You could forget all your personal struggles while you lost yourself in an episode.

They actually wrecked between 250 and 300 '69 Chargers in those high-flying stunts. IIRC, the hero car (the one that wasn't used for them) survived the entire series. 😎👍

In the uk those horns were everywhere
My teacher used to tell us that the dukes of hazards used loads of cars because cars damage easy, so when we get a car and drive, don't drive like in the show

I recently met Daisy's stunt double at a car show. Next time you see the Dixie Jeep sliding around a turn, you'll see it's a DUDE in a wig and arm stockings!

1. Only 5 episodes were originally ordered, not 9. It was expanded to run to the end of the ‘78-‘79 TV season after the initial episode(s) were so well received by viewers.

2. As others have commented, Bo and Luke were 1st cousins - not brothers. Their parents (and Daisy’s) were all killed in an accident when they were young. Uncle Jesse took them in and raised them.

3. John’s last name is Schneider, not Snyder.

4. Wopat and Schneider walked off the show due to the lack of royalties for all of the core cast, not just for themselves. The way it’s reported in this video makes it sound like they were simply money hungry. They actually stood up for ALL of the core cast to receive royalties for their personal likenesses being used to earn WB literally millions upon millions of dollars from novelty items. WB hated the series and treated the cast like they were nothing…all while WB was earning millions from toy cars, shirts, dolls, etc.

5. James Best, who was a personal friend of mine, did NOT refuse to film 5 episodes “all because he didn’t have a private dressing room in which to change his clothes.” He didn’t have any dressing room - shared or otherwise. The crew would literally hold up sheets/blankets and have Jimmie and Sorrell Booke (Boss) sprayed down with water hoses after filming a muddy or otherwise filthy scene (among other dishonorable and degrading treatment). It was disrespectful treatment for ANY human being, let alone actors who were earning millions for the parent company. Jimmie stood up for his principles and to be treated with a little more respect. Flash had a better dog house/dressing room than Jimmie and Sorrell did!

6. Wopat has a scar on his right arm to this day from that first unintended hood slide.

7. Sorrell Booke was a highly trained actor - and he was an amazingly intelligent, kind man. He spoke multiple languages. He served as a Counterintelligence Officer in the Korean War. James Best & Denver Pyle were both WWII veterans, too.

I was looking forward to watching this video until I heard all of the partially true statements and those that were untrue. I lost a lot of respect for this channel after seeing this poorly-done video.

Sadly reruns are cancelled because of the General Lee and the Confederate Flag on top of it.
