Update on a Cylon Helmet that is being brought to life using arduino and neopixels. After doing some research, I decided to create a easter egg, a nod to the original concept designed by Ralph McQuarrie. Blue eye mod.

I absolutely love this!!!! I really think the original blue scanner light shows a more cold, emotionless & logic-driven robotic race while the red adds the component of evilness and hatred that Count Iblis’ demonic influence would’ve had over them. I always loved the original Battlestar Galactica and know it could have been so much more had it been given a little more time and supported like it should’ve been. Thank you for your presentation and taking the time to share it! Bravo!!!!

The blue scanning eye looks pretty cool but I remember reading in the original novelization the actual Cylon aliens had a flat red beam that emitted from their helmets which gave the Viper Pilots the ability to fly around the beams there by giving them the advantage in space battle.

Absolutely bad I always hoped someone would do that based on McQuarrie’s original design. I would think the Cylon’s original scanner color would be blue before Count Iblis somehow took over the Cylon Empire/Alliance.
