Active Duty Vs Reserves - Which Is Better? 🤔

That beard/mustache "thing" shows that this soldier values a fashion statement over a disciplined appearance. The cover is a bit frumpy as well. Having been both AC & RC, active troops are better baby-sat and don't have to think/plan how to perform two careers at the same time. Depending on the unit, pre-deployment training takes just as long for AC as RC. RC is certainly a more cost effective force...

They got different benefits. You need more discipline on the reserve side than the active cause you have to maintain your physical fitness and etc etc while also maintaining a job/family/school. In active duty everything is planned out for you basically.

Sure reserves is slow but we are home 28 days out of the month and then there are the added benefits of a full time job. I just 20 years in the army, 16 in the reserves

It just depends on different factors like your age, what you want from the Army, your mos. I was originally a reservist and I just switched to active cause the reserve is so damn boring and every one is playing soldier 2 times on the weekend and 2 weeks in the summer plus you got staff sergeants and above who haven’t even went on a deployment yet. So it all just depends on you. .

It is better to complain about not doing a lot of military shit. While being at home with your family. Than complaining about not being with your family dealing with military shit as active

I joined the Marines because I got to have 2 DUIs and make Pvt 3 times. Active duty, the only way to go, pukes. Rah.

Who gets paid more lol....I did both active and reserve and as a NYC reservist I got paid more because of bah I was making what an e7 was making as an e4 that's because base pay plus NYC bah
On active you getting bah for local area don't be station in Alabama lol....
Aaaand as a reservist you can go active anytime you want any where around the world just get placed on
Active duty your stuck with an ass hole for years n the reserve you see them less....on a deployment it's over fast
Aaaand you can double dip from your civilian job for me I was NYPD so when I deployed which was a lot I got paid by both so do the math
On deployments I was getting paid by NYPD and getting bah and base pay
Can you do that active duty
