Not only is the verse a warning, it is part of the pronouncement of the curse that their sin has brought upon them. It is categorically not what God planned for women or men when He created them.

Eve comes into contact with malevolence, with deceit and with pain first, just like all girls do in the real world when they start their menstrual cycles…the powers are different, but it’s not as simple as “women are subservient”

Well the Bible does say that the man is the head of the woman. And it also says that women should respect their husbands, and submit to their husbands.

But it also says that a man should love his wife the way that Christ loves the church. Which means he should be willing to sacrifice everything for her.
