Have you had any cats get bad skin reactions from the super glue?

Just a heads up; if you use the Libre device on a dog or cat with a veterinary prescription and it malfunctions, the company will NOT replace it. For our device we paid $90 with sales tax from a pharmacy. It gave one accurate reading and then malfunctioned three hours later and said 'replace sensor'. The company said they only cover for human use, even though the veterinarian prescribed it. We lost $90 and I had to then go buy a finger stick glucose reading device for my newly diabetic cat. The Libre2 device had been correctly placed and I had no problem installing it, as I used to be a registered veterinary technician, so that's not why it stopped working. Also most devices will fall off of your animal in less than two weeks, unless you clean the site before placement and use a skin glue or Crazy glue to help it adhere better. Consider these factors before purchase. It was wonderful when it worked for the one glucose reading. 😒

My vets have tried twice and failed. Is it possibly the superglue that makes all the difference?

We've had to replace 3 within 2 weeks! First one stayed 5 days, next one 6 days . At $80.00 a piece and $30.00 OV charge to put the new one on, our vet gave us instructions on how to get a free one from Abbott by not mentioning it's for a cat or prescribed by a vet. Obtained a free one finally, brought him in, they put it on, another $30.00 right out the door and I'll be damned if it didn't fall off only 3 hours after we got him home!I've had cats my entire life. I'm a retired nurse and veterinary technician so I know how to keep him from getting it off. This last one in particular I believe was never secured as well and the fur site was not reshaved prior to attaching it. Guess what the vet recommend we do. Spend another $80.00, bring him in for another $30.00 to have them take maybe all of 4 minutes to put it on. Anyone want to suggest to me WTH!! I've just ordered my own pet glucometer kit from Amazon. She would not recommend anything or any other way to read his glucose aside from the libre 3 freestyle sensor and its not even approved for the use in animals. She's also a witness as to how unreliable and difficult they tend to be particularly on cats.. So what gives? I'm a huge believer in truth and I feel very bad for having acquired the free sensor the way I did . If Justification were needed all I can say is that when it comes to those I love I will do almost anything but it still doesn't make dishonesty right

I just purchased a vest for post surgical cats that velcros at the back. Also just purchased another sensor only this time CVS used a coupon so it was $30.00 instead of $80.00. I need to ask them why they didn't do that the other 2 times we did pay $81.00 for it BTW I had purchased a glucometer kit for animals for about $50. and actually ended up sending it back because I could never get blood from his ear or even a footpad! I'll keep you informed when we get this one on.

My cat just use this in aug 2024. However there is an error on both sensors. Important to pets owner Abbott will not provide replacement if it is used on pets.

I'm sorry, but super glue? That's not really meant for the skin.

Do not use on pets. The sensor is simply of extremely low quality, mine stopped working after less than 24 hours of use.

Support informed that because it is for animal use, it is not covered by warranty. Money thrown in the trash.
