This song reminds me of my own coming of age, with a few differences, but Andrew McMahon, you got me to stop in my tracks when I heard this. Very powerful. I have a lot of respect for someone with as much mastery as you have. I had my dad listen to this track, and we both agree that this song is beautiful. Please, keep it up.

Saw this version live at Blue Note in Honolulu 2 weeks ago. My wife and I got to show up and sit 20 feet away while he told the story of how he wrote this for his daughter. He played songs from throughout his career and told stories about where they originated from. This right here... is exactly how it was in person and we were both really impressed. Andrew never fails to deliver.
