RFID is old, the thing is NFC, like we start using in Norway. and yes not only phone, but in you card as well.

i have RFID stickers all over my house .. friends walk in .. they get the wifi password from the coat rack ... sticker on my desk .. charge mode, sticker on my chair arm ( loud mode) sticker on kitchen over ( starts timer) .. sooo useful and nfc uses so little battery too ( not thar it matters much to me i have an old samsung galaxy s2 .. with a 4500 Mha battery ) but i recommend anyone with an nfc capable phone get some cheap nfc stickers for about £1 or $1.3 (estimate) on ebay
