I was invited to the 2023 KART RACE OF CHAMPIONS (KROC). This is one of the premier rental karting events in the world. While it takes place at Buckmore Park in the UK, there were drivers from all around the world competing for the ultimate title of champion of champions. This is an invite-only event, and all drivers came from sort of rental karting pedigree. I am a rental karting champion myself (many years ago), but I was invited as one of two WILD CARD drivers. Safe to say, I got my ass whooped having severely underestimated the amount of preparation I'd need for this event, but hopefully you all found it entertaining lol...

I personally think the way the #7 reacted to the little bump was uncalled for.

The guy who said "You're in trouble" was wearing the exact same suit as guy who was driving the #18 that you had an incident with at T1. He was definitely saying that to try and piss you off but little did he know that his relevance is only in his head 😂😂

Such an insightful and down to earth vid that makes these intense competitions relatable to the average viewers. Rlly like to see this kind of stuff!

11:25 you had right of way. It was your line. You were a half kart-length on him and gaining. he couldn't do that without spinning, it's his fault that happened

this is a kiss at best not a bump at all if this is what qualifies as being aggressive then those ppl. need to stop karting and find a safe space !!! YOU ARE RACING NOT DRIVING A TAXI

Hey man, just finished watching the video last night and I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved it, incredible stuff and if you ever get the chance to do something like this again imo you should definitely make a video about it, loved the sort of documentary vibe you put into it as well lol, big supporter of you man, keep on grinding.

Great editing skills, well balanced video with quite not much budget for it.

It seems you hit the rental karting racing for the first time. Not bad at all. Thanks for lighting up such a sport.

also 11:45 yeah it's gonna lead to you getting swarmed because thats how competitive outdoor karting is. gotta try and think about all the factors when racing ✌

With that issue near 11 mins you definitely have the right of way, had Marshalls that do outdoor karting tell me that as long as the kart is minimum 1/3 along side the kart in front they gotta leave room

These heat races at Buckmore can get very aggressive but I really don't see anything wrong with your overtakes in the final.

I also notice someone must have advised you to bounce in the kart to get better traction off the line at the start.

I won the Man of steel lightweight championship here in the hire karts a few years ago and miss the track since moving abroad.

@11:30 the rule at buckmore is that you have to be half a kart along side to calm it as your corner and the driver on the outside has to back off

16:46 - I think the common sense in rental kart is that you need to have at least half kart overlap to be considered an overlap. In this case, I don't think you were close enough

Great video, Cameron - love seeing your experience at the event. Don't forget your lead next time! 😆

UK karting scene is pretty serious with rental teams being pretty common at most rental events. some even extend to national competitions.

If driver A is not at least 50% alongside the inside of driver B entering the turn and
driver B gets tapped and suffers a significant loss of time, without rider B losing a position,
a warning will follow for driver A.

this the rule for overtaking in the netherlands, and i think alot of other countries/championships. i think this is also why some drivers put their hand up, because even tho you were alongside, youre not alongside enough.

I did this in 2021 was at Brighton that year followed by SRK. Also recommended, Club 100 drivers often do SRK & BRKC as well, both series have top shelf drivers. KROC brings in a good mix.
Also the taping on lead is to stop damage to the kart and your clothes.
