This is why scp-049 is my favorite scp. As long as he doesn’t sense pestilence he’s like a father to everyone, he’s really just so nice.

SCP 049 is literally the dad of every depressed SCP.

Genuinely cried when I saw this. What 0-49 describes as the Pestilence is just the cruel nature of humans themselves. While 0-49 admits he cannot save 0-96, he still does what he deems is right and commits to helping 0-96, doing what he can. 0-96 may have not attacked 0-49 because he knew that he was genuinely trying to help him. I respect 0-49 even more now.

It really shows that 049 really just wants to help everyone, and doesn’t mean to hurt. It also proves even more that the “pestilence” is humans’ cruel nature. 096 was affected by this and the doctor knew that. He knew that 096 was really the victim there.

According to SCP Wiki, SCP-049 and SCP-096 are best buddies. SCP-096 didn't even try to kill SCP-049. Instead, it just sat and cried while 049 held it. Both were distressed when Foundation workers separated them.
