Nerve Block Needle 💉

Показать описание
Nerve blocks are powerful anesthetic tools to lower pain and improve safety of surgery! We numb the nerves that go to the surgical site. When you get a nerve block, you often don't need as much IV or inhalational anesthesia, and that can make surgery safer in some cases. That's especially the case if you have heart or lung disease.

This is a classic nerve block needle that echoes with ultrasound. This helps me visualize the needle under ultrasound as I perform the block. Common blocks I perform are interscalene, popliteal sciatic, adductor canal, femoral, genicular, and supraclavicular.

I also numb the skin first to prevent the discomfort of bigger nerve block needle!

I had a nerve block for my last knee surgery. I watched the surgery on the monitor and the surgeon was telling me what I was looking at. It was very interesting and weird at the same time.

I could go my whole life never seeing how long that is 😂. I’ve had one but never saw it. My (now ex) husband was watching and blurted out “WOW, that’s a huge needle.” 🤪

I had hernia surgery recently and according to the report, a nerve block was used, in addition to 16 different drugs flooding my body that never had surgery before. I would rather die than go through that again.

Ive had this for 2 operations, bowel resections, was under the muscle and honestly quite painful even with fentanyl. Is it because its under the muscle in abdomen?

I thought I was going to die when they gave me the nerve block yesterday. It was painful, but they did try to help me, by giving me other medications

He's right. Barely felt it in my shoulder before surgery. But wow, be ready for the punch in the face when it wears off.
