I'm glad to see that you take pride in your work. After 42 years of repairs, I still treat my repairs as if they were my own.

Decades ago I repaired Aircraft navigation strobe power supplies. Watching this brought back some memories. I especially liked when you spotted the cold joint and I said thats not good, right before you did. LOL My Samsung 3D plasma 65" has a similar board and the caps blew before the ETs due to a cold resister joint. Luckily all the FETS survived, just had to replace the caps and resolder the joints. Not the first time I reflowed boards on this set. A few year back the display was flickering so all the boards came off and got a treatment with the heat gun. Problem solved. When I was doing this I had a dedicated desoldering setup. Had a pump and a glass bowl on the head of the iron. That thing had hundreds of hours and pounds of solder through it. Not once did it scorch a board.

Most people don't take so much effort to go for the extra mile. Awesome job.

I save old pieces of solder wick to bridge broken traces, great repair!

Good job, although I would add some wire across the broken tracks to reinforce them. If not reinforced, the solder alone can break later from heat expansion and contraction, causing an intermittent connection. Ask me how I know !! Lol.

Thank God for Technicians like U in this Industry. Whoever tried to repair this obviously cracked the board too. I hate Ebay sellers like this. Great Job Nick!

Thanks so much Nick, i enjoy watching your videos and look forward to more, i especially like the way you've proven that the board fully works, so if the customer blows it up again, it won't be your fault and the customer could have more problems with the TV but i like being positive and i hope the TV works perfectly...🙂

Sorry to be critical but your soldering practise needs a slight but essential change. I've completed a NASA course in soldering an essential technique is to start soldering with the component lead, then down to the board. This minimises the chance of a cold joint, especially if there's any surface crap on the component leg which will lead to the possibility of a "cold / intermittent" joint. Also the use of a good quality flux will certinally lesson any risks...yes it adds to the cleaning task, but long term it's worthwhile.
Everything else....great, and really well presented.

I am subscribed to your channel, but if you could provide a little more detail of all the parts you are replacing, that would be great!!!
What amp+ voltage on 3pin smd diode?

1:34 There's a good reason for the slot in the PCB (look up "creepage" as it applies to PCBs), and the way that FET was installed completely negates it.
