It’s gotten to the point where I just wanna cut my ear off

I’ve gotten swimmers ear 3 times in 2 years (one of them resulted into a ear infection) and I noticed 3 main stages before you see a doctor 1. It hurts a bit when you press on the ear
2. You feel a bubble which makes you not hear as well but you can still pop the ear but it usually reforms and there is constant pain usually mild and just an annoyance
3. You no longer can pop the bubble and without a medication to ease the pain for a few hours it’s really painful until it either pops or it becomes an ear infection



Just so you know I’m not a doctor this is just my personal experience please don’t take this as advice unless a doctor confirms this

I'm going through it right now and at first it was some minor irritating ear pain but ive had that before so I wasnt worried....untill 2 days later when the side it was on stated to hurt like a stabbing pain and swell and also stiffen my jaw. The pain is bad at its peak but pop 2 ibfrofen and it almost completley takes it away for aboht 4 1/2 hpurs

Going thru this as I type. My left side of my ear is swollen. It hurts to the touch and even when I open my jaw. Went to see Doctor and he confirm I have an infection. I was given "Neomycin and Polymixin B Sulfates and Hydrocortisone Otice Solution, USP" is drops for my ears. I hope to recover soon. Never had this before in my life.

It was my first time with this extreme pain I had to go to the hospital because of I could not sleep. All I would do I cry and the swelling is bad!!! This is my 8th day and my hearing is coming back slowly

Currently going through this! It’s the worst! Ugh! 😣 it’s only in my right ear so I can’t sleep on my left side or I feel the discharge sliding inside my ear! Horrible horrible! I feel like I have all the major symptoms associated!

Im 30year old black male, ive been swimmimg since i was 5. Never in my life heard of swimmers ear. Never ever ever heard of this shit. My ears started hurting about 2 days after swimming. Im pissed because this has never happened and im comfused as to after a thousands swimmimg sessions im my life, this swimmers ear popped up out of nowhere on me.
