This video is a build theory for those of you who really want to play Winter Orb. The skill has potential to deal massive damage with the recent buffs, so Zizaran put together a build that you can try if you're an experienced player.
Winter Orb Totems has the potential to tackle all of Path of Exile's endgame.

The main negative to this (I've actually played it before in legion and it was pretty decent) is that playing in this league Rain of Splinters is going to have a ton of trade pressure on it due to EA totems

I love trying to make random build ideas work. I spent a few days working on a Guardian Auramancer with Energy Blades + Rallying Cry + Animate Weapon. The end result was probably too clunky for most, especially during clear, but it's boss damage was hilarious for the amount of investment I put in.

I started the league with Freezing Pulse and Ice Spear totems (made the swap once I got my soul mantle and kikazaru). I then swapped to Winter Orb to try it and it felt really smooth, even better than the other two as I didn't have to gem swap anymore. I'm at maps now and excited to see how far this build can go. I love this style of video because I'm mostly looking for ideas rather than a complete walkthrough.

I remember making this build long ago and came to the conclusion that scion is better than hierophant. Your tree is kinda stretched so scion is great, probably more so now that you can spec either PF or deadeye and grab spell suppression. Hierophant mana regen is wasted since winter orb totems cost is super low and you're not MoM anyways.

Winter Orb Totem sounds nice in theory but if I remember right (can't remember if this changed), the totem doesn't fire till it channels up to max. In other words, good on paper, bad in practice.
