..not to teach or have authority OVER MEN - does not mean they cannot minister to other women and children which is likely over 2/3 of the Church.

Another good video clip to watch is where MacArthur tells Beth Moore to go home. It was during a conference interview (obviously rehearsed/staged question and answer designed to "stir up" attention/conflict). When asked for his first thoughts/response to the words "Beth Moore" MacArthur says "Go home." Matthew 7:15-20 says you shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles--every good tree brings forth good fruit. (And what is good fruit? Scriptures says the fruits of the spirit are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.)--We will know them by their fruits. Pray for discernment as you view the conference clip to which I refer and see the glib/gleeful/smug attitude of MacArthur as he says "Go home." Consider that the rehearsed question was placed their to mock and create strife--all of which are the OPPOSITE OF what scripture declares are fruits of the spirit. Then compare that consistent arrogant, mocking attitude to clips/posts/tweets of Beth Moore as she shows restraint when dealing with the "Beth Moore/MacArthur issue"--compare and contrast those two attitudes and remember that the word of God says we will know them by their fruits--fruits of LOVE, joy, peace, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, goodness, faithfulness, GENTLENESS and self-control. Who is showing/bearing that fruit in this situation? And consider your own initial response to my observation?--Is it thoughtful? Peaceful? Arrogant? Unkind? We shall know them by their fruits.

I have no issues with John Macarthur. However, to defend Beth Moore I would simply state that the Bible does say older women should teach younger women. Beth Moore basically does women's ministry. When they show glimpses of her audience, I never see men. I only ever see women in her audiences and her Bible Studies are clearly and obviously marketed to women. She's allowed to speak to women.

It is easily seen in 1 Tim 2 WHY women are to be submissive and WHY they are not to have authority or to teach or preach to men, Paul spells it in vs. 13 and 14. And 1 Tim 3:2 states that only men can be an overseer since they must be faithful their their wife, and able to 'teach', removing women from the possibility of obtaining either of those positions.

John MacArthur will have to answer some day for his arrogance and his slandering of Beth Moore.

I feel sad for non-believers who are put off Christianity, and, even more sad that these people are more discerning than many many so called Christians

Or, perhaps, "Doctor" McArthur, your exegesis of Paul's writings on women teaching is off.

For all MacArthur's wisdom, sounds like this woman has gotten under his skin! Sounds like he has a problem with God talking to women and then using those women in ministry! I pray the he goes back to the Book and takes another look! Men are NOT higher than women! God uses whatever and whoever He has to in getting the Word to others! Even Beth Moore! Especially Beth Moore! And I am thankful for His wisdom as it exceeds the wisdom of even John MacArthur!
