HOW TO PROGRAM METAL DRUMS - 3 Simple Steps

Whether you have absolutely zero drum knowledge or you are a more experienced writer already, this video detailing how I program drums will help you make your first beat and/or learn new tricks and different concepts.

I break down how to program drums in 3 steps - building a foundation attributing roles to different kit pieces, adding and removing stuff from said foundation, then switching around the roles in step 1 for really creative drum parts.

I feel like whenever I'd try to write drums over riffs, I'd just put things in and adjust based on trial and error more than anything else. Having a structured approach would've helped a lot back then.

Content like this is invaluable for beginning musicians that might program in a "see what works" kind of way, but also for more experienced people who kinda got the hang of it, but still struggle to come up with a methodical step by step approach.
