Kin - Pat Metheny - Synth Guitar Solo Cover

Показать описание
Here's a little transcription of one of my favorite Fusion Solos. This was actually what first got me into him. Pat Metheny uses his classical synth tone on this, and in the middle he jumps up the octave, I decided to get around that by utilizing the lower range of my 8 string to avoid that octave up jump.
There's a lot of stuff to love about this solo, the Modal Blues, the various themes he likes to elaborate on, and that Octatonic section close to the end. This solo when I originally transcribed it way back really taught me how Pat Metheny uses these chords like color, reminds me a lot of Debussey and Mahler, but also of Herbie Hancock.
I'll go out and say that Pat Metheny is probably the best (also my favorite) guitar player out there, along with Wes Montgomery, Plini, Fredrick Thordnal, and Alan Holdsworth.
