Be careful when getting a mobile contract online from sky mobile. If you select a 24-month contract on the agreement page it gets changed to a 36-month contract. Read the agreement page carefully and make sure you are signing for the right months.

Sky Mobile observations:

They use O2, the network with the worst overall 3G coverage in the UK. Those who argue with me on this are in denial, and seriously need to check Ofcom coverage maps.

Their data allowances of 1GB for £10, 3GB for £15 and 5GB for £20 on a 12 month contract is NOT competitive at all.

Yes, they allow data to roll over for up to three years, but that appears to just be a gimmick to me. I can't see a low data user to suddenly want to use so much data saved up in a short period of time.

Cease to be a Sky TV subscriber? Prepare to pay an extra £10 a month for your calls and texts on top of the tariffs mentioned above.

I'm sorry Sky, but this is not going to work out well. With other networks offfering far higher data allowances in the £20 region (and on shorter contracts!), and at the lower end of the pricing table (£10), other networks offer far more. Heck, even the upcoming Plusnet Mobile is more competitive than this, and they will use EE, the network with the most widespread combined 3G and 4G coverage.

If this was on HotUKDeals, I'd vote cold!
