One thing I will say is I hate the bass heavy beat for the pro volleyball federation screen that plays during timeouts and such. It’s obnoxiously loud compared to the volume of the game and I hate having to adjust my volume so many times

12:29 Beason seems to have so much potential to be a deadly hitter, but she still has a huge problem of hitting straight into the block. In the slow-motion replay, you can see that the middle blocker was late getting outside to close, so Beason had a very open seam to hit at or through, but instead, she hit it right into the blocker who was right in front of her. On top of that, that set was PERFECT, JUICY, just the right distance off the net. As a hitter, this is the kind of set you can really crank on and hit wherever you want. She could have hit into the open seam, or smashed it off the outer edge of that blocker in front of her. As a hitter, you need to be able to SEE those weaknesses in the block, or floor defense, and instinctively take advantage. THIS is perhaps Beason's biggest weakness, and it has been her entire college career.

Leah Edmond stands out to me as having serious National Team potential. I like her simple, high-reaching hitting style/technique, with a really quick and powerful armswing. She also has a quick explosivness in her approach and jump, excellent ball-handling skills (that 1-handed roundhouse save to get the ball over the net was world-class), and a killer jump serve which seems like it still has room to get better. She uses the same exact technique on her serve as on her spike -- reach high, and use a vicious wrist-snap to impart lots of topspin. And overall, she has that high-level athleticism and eye-hand coordination. Her volleyball IQ seems to be quite high already, but I can see her still improving it to higher and higher levels because of her intelligence. Out of all the prospects for National Team outside hitter, she'd be one of my top picks for sure. Exciting, dynamic player to watch.
