Impossible Matteo Mancuso lines? I think not.

This was recorded on my iphone with the Iphone built in microphone and played through a roland micro cube. Of course the tone doesn’t sound like Matteo’s gear and professional mix lol

You definitely played it man..
I think what Rick was getting at is that you can’t get the same feeling from those lines with a pick.
When matteo played it it has think dampened tone to it because it’s finger picked which makes a difference to the feeling.

Extremely merit-ful considering he is like foot tapping different numbers on the floor with ONE foot versus having five to tap each directly. What's impossible is getting the same smoothness and action Mancusso does but props to that picking. ❤

Cross picking/flat picking is an overlooked technique because it’s so closely associated with bluegrass and while I couldn’t ever dream of doing any of this, I would think it could come in handy for lines like this.

Well you can't play asturias with a pick. That would have been a solid example.

It's probably safer to say that it's the attack that is better articulated with the fingers, but not impossible. Also, players that use a pick wouldn't be as likely to come up with those types of ideas because they're not as comfortable with a pick, like 3 nps ideas. Still, that doesnt mean they're impossible, just like the creator of the video demonstrates.
