I shot my best round ever and not even 5 days later it was like I had never played golf. I am still trying to find my swing because I have try outs for my high school team next week. I hope this helps me find confidence and my swing back !

You’ve literally just reassured me it’ll be all good in the end but that’s exactly how I feel, as if I’ve totally forgot how to swing at a ball

So glad i found this video.. i contemplated giving up golf after my last 3 rounds. Worse scores ever.. and yes everyone at club tried to be my coach which made me feel worse!! Thank you for making me feel human again :)

That quote about "your swing when you are playing well and when you're not looks about the same" is very reassuring. I had a rough round today just 10 days after one of my best ever, and I could swear my swing feels exactly the same. I'm not gonna overthink it anymore, no more videos for now, that's what I needed to hear! Thanks for the advice!

I got into golf 3 months ago, couple private lessons and playing 4 times a week I went from 54 hci to 31hci, last week shot my best round of 99 on the money.

Today I had my first club tournament. Shot 131 I kid you not, duffed every. Single. Ball. I lost it I was on tbe brink of crying.

Thank you for this video, I'll be back on the course saturday

Cheers

I’m a 5 hdcp and been gearing up to get my score better but lost my swing completely this week! I feel like I’ve lost all confidence and rhythm & timing. This game will humble you! Will use these for shure! Thanks

Thank you for your simplistic advice. This is what we need when we need to remind us of the basics. Lost my golf swing last Sunday, walked off on the 11th hole, never has I ever done that before. Ruined the res of my day and knocked my confidence totally. My instructor tells me all the time, avoid YouTube if you want to grow on the basics and the good that you already have, this gentleman has already said there are thousands of different techniques we could all do but all ends up to an uncoordinated overthinking mess!

This helped a lot, I need to stop overthinking it and just hit the ball because I was just playing good yesterday.

Thumbs up for excellent content! Subtract and not add, etc. Haven't seen anyone else address this in such a way.

I've definitely lost my iron swing and not my driver for some reason. Almost every single shot is a shank and it's extremely frustrating. I recently started playing pretty decent and now have to give props to the people hacking it up every time they go out and continue to play no matter what. That's something I could not do.

I had a mild stroke a couple of years ago and lost my swing entirely. Before my stroke I had about a 4 or 5 handicap, now I don't know what it is, I'm all over the board. I've been working hard getting it back and learned if I slow down and concentrate on contact (ball, then turf) I've been slowly getting better. My yardage is about 15 - 20 yards shorter per club, as I slowed my tempo for better contact, but am finally starting to get my accuracy back. I'll eventually get my yardage back, contact is my primary concern at this time and slowing my tempo has helped a lot. My short game has always been pretty good and didn't lose much of that so now I'm leaning heavily on my short game while I improve the rest of my game. It's certainly been a struggle, but hitting the driving range at least once a week and slowing my tempo has helped immensely.

Thanks Adam. I really enjoy your videos. Always find them really helpful and simple to follow.

Some of the comments in here completely mirror my game at the moment. I’ve gone from shooting 5 consecutive rounds under 90 (which is good for me....I’m a 22 hcp) to 5 rounds in the mid/high 90’s (and even 100 on my last round).

I felt my swing had completely gone!! Then, I played 9 holes on my own, took my time and relaxed. Started off playing 3/4 swings and clubbing up if necessary and shot a 46. Not great, but 8 shots better than my prev front 9 on the same course. Just got to hang in there. Swing easy is key but can take some getting used to on the course.

Great video! I shot my best round ever (4 over par on 9 holes) the other day. Took a lesson the next morning and it completely ruined me. I had so many swing thoughts and was all worried about my knee "collapsing" during the driver backswing. I played the same 9 that evening at 15 over par because I lost so many balls OB - that lesson had completely shaken my confidence and, in turn, my timing and rhythm.

Sometimes we just need to go back to basics and work within our natural athletic tendencies (if they work for us) rather than trying to craft the perfect looking swing. I needed this reminder to let go of the thoughts! Thanks Adam.

I needed this video after today. I have been working hard on my game (even got a net and mat in the garage and I’ve hit a ton of balls). Today I went out and could barely get the ball in the air. I counted about 20 total mishits (mostly tops). It’s frustrating and embarrassing. And I had no idea what I was doing so differently than usual.

Hi Adam. I usually find I loose my swing for periods mid to late season (about late July, August, September) as you say loads of things running through my mind and get frustrated. If I’ve been playing a lot I find a weeks break from the course kind of resets this, and a couple of trips to the driving range helps keep my hand in. Kind of takes the pressure of playing with colleagues.

I’ve had zero consistency in my swing for about five months now. I went from steadily progressing and dropping about 15 strokes to hosel shanks, toe shots, tops, and a plethora of other things. I can go in my front yard and completely return to my regular self and then go back out a few hours later and completely lose all fundamentals. Looking forward to applying these tips.

The last time I had a good golf swing was at the end of elementary school, tried in high school but lost my swing and just never thought I'd get to play again. Decades later today, my coworkers and I were talking about golf and then continued with one in of them that plays and then talked about how not to miss the tee off. Like move your eyes after you hear the pop of the golf ball on the club so you won't miss. Gosh it got me thinking maybe I could start practicing again at 41. Thanks for the video my brother

Adam...thank god I watched this. I had a massive mental block that I couldn't overcome, then I did as you said, ie neutralising my brain and letting my subconscious do the work. I achieved this by focussing on slowing everything down, which meant I did not consider ANY other aspect of my swing... just swing slowly. Ive just hit 100 balls down the driving range faultlessly, I feel elated. This has been ongoing for months now.
I'm in a comp in 2 days, and I've gone from utter trepidation to eager anticipation and excitement at the prospect!
Thank you.
Jack Baldwin.
