I Can't Follow On TikTok (Help!)

TikTok allows you to follow any account that is public and request to follow any private account. However, sometimes the ability to follow is either suspended or just not working properly. In this video, I walk you through the many reasons why follow may now be working.

One reason is if you're trying to follow back every account that follows you, you may get an error message that you're following too fast and to slow down. If you get this error message you may get suspended for a time and not able to follow anyone, this is usually lifted in about 24 hours if it's your first time. Basically, TikTok's algorithm wants to make sure you're naturally following accounts you're interested in and not just following as many people as you can so you get followed back.

My big is when i follow and reload it's not following

My problem is I made a new account. When I follow people and then refresh or leave the page, it says I’m not following them. Same with liking videos. I’ve liked tons of videos but just gone to rewatch them and none are there. Tried deleting the app etc. no joy

My problem is that when I try to follow somebody it works while I am viewing their account, but then when I leave their account or close TikTok, it says I'm not following them anymore. It has been doing this with every account I have tried to follow and I am not sure why

Stop blaming people for following too fast. You can go days and days without following anyone and the next time you try to follow still won't work.

This video is for those who follow too quickly and get a 24hour ban. There is currently a fault with tiktok in which you follow an account but its like it doesn't register (when tou follow too quickly and get a 24hour ban a message comes up so its different) despite reports to tiktok on 2 newly made accounts all they repeatedly tell you to do is upload recent updated app, restart phone, clear cache and try on other devices. I have done all of this so I advise to keep reporting. Something must have happened with recent updates that they haven't worked out yet

I press follow and it follows but when I go back out and back in says that I haven’t followed them

I just downloaded TikTok so I could watch my favorite YouTuber’s streams on there and it doesn’t let me follow her, or anybody else. When I click follow it follows the user but then if I reenter the page or reload it then it unfollows them. If I change the notifications it’ll say “Couldn’t save settings. Try again” and the same things happen when I do try again. Another thing is it doesn’t let me change my profile. So far the only part I got to edit on my profile is the username and pronouns, everything else just says I’m editing to fast even when I do it at a slow paste or come back 5 minutes later. Help pls 😭

What if I dont have them blocked and they don't have me blocked and I can't follow them, I follow them then refresh my page then it doesn't show as I follow

Nope, neither of these and still can’t follow any user. People can follow me, and I can tap follow / follow back but as soon as I refresh it goes right back to the follow/follow back options. Deleted and reuploaded the app, restarted phone, sent a report. Still nada. Not a good experience for first time user at all.
