In Brazil the president does not get to decide on interest rate. The president of the Central Bank has a mandate and does not respond to the president of the republic. The current president of the central bank was appointed by Jair Bolsonaro.

Well i was worried tha visualeconomics had a shallow view of economics, been brazilian and an economist now i am sure of it.

Never just a single thing can explain such a complex phenomenon. Ideological blindness aside, several factors have contributed to GDP growth in Brazil. On the demand side, the highlights were investment, household consumption and also government consumption. On the supply side, industry and services drove GDP growth.
