SurrealDB:

What is SurrealDB?
SurrealDB is an end-to-end cloud-native database designed for modern applications, including web, mobile, serverless, Jamstack, backend, and traditional applications. With SurrealDB, you can simplify your database and API infrastructure, reduce development time, and build secure, performant apps quickly and cost-effectively.

Key features of SurrealDB:
⭐ Reduces development time: SurrealDB simplifies your database and API stack by removing the need for most server-side components, allowing you to build secure, performant apps faster and cheaper.
⭐ Real-time collaborative API backend service: SurrealDB functions as both a database and an API backend service, enabling real-time collaboration.
⭐ Support for multiple querying languages: SurrealDB supports SQL querying from client devices, GraphQL, ACID transactions, WebSocket connections, structured and unstructured data, graph querying, full-text indexing, and geospatial querying.
⭐ Granular access control: SurrealDB provides row-level permissions-based access control, giving you the ability to manage data access with precision.

It’s like they went through all the wishlist of what the perfect database might look like, then declare “we did it” on each one. Isn’t this too good to be true? My dev team will take the leap and try surreal on some of our new projects.

This looks great, thanks for publishing the event. I can't wait to use this in my projects and at work.

One question - why use SQL as a language basis if it's going to grow so far from SQL by the time it hits 1.0 - is it wise to put so much imperative stuff in what is intended to be a declarative language?

0:48 - 1:10: There is nothing you can say to convince me that Tobie Hitchcock isn't some ai avatar hologram walking on to stage.

To get out ahead of some dbs, maybe have someone develop a VR / AR interface - like in Unity or a-frame.
It's obviously early days, and thus not much attention, but things are really looking good from my perspective.

For once, I really needed the burnt-in captions. #howtosaythis

Que cojones, cómo hubo un tío que dijo “SubrealDB un paso adelante” EN CATALÁN Y NO EN ESPAÑOL

Gente que habla español: 70% de un continente, siendo el idioma más extendido del mundo

Catalán: 🤡

Maybe there is something to the database, but I was too distracted by the uber cringe presentation.
What's wrong with you guys, all the languages, weird white background interviews, slow drammatic talking pace... yayks, absolutely mental (in a bad way) presentation
