I have a friend, who lives in China as teacher, original from the US. They were in Lockdown for 2 months. He said, in his area there were no new cases for the past 2 weeks. They are allowed more freedoms again, they slowly getting back to normal. So It could be true. But we don't know, how long it will last, if everyone can move freely again.

China bungled up it's handling of the situation initially however eventually they took strong and effective measures to curb epidemic, the US is guilty of the same except they are still not effectively handling the situation till this very moment.

Can you please just do some basic research into what it is actually like in China at the moment instead of making a whole bunch of assumptions 🙄
If all of the measures China has taken to stop this has not worked, what hope does the rest of the world Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea are all following a containment model set out by China. South Korea has been able to contain a large outbreak using this model.
Why don’t you talk to people who have actually stayed in China.

With regards to the are constantly calling out Fox News fake news well....the NYT, Washington Post etc are constantly writing inaccurate, misleading and fake news about China. China has the power and sovereignty to not take any of their bullshit and kick them out. I find the defence of this kind of journalism offensive. It’s an abuse of free speech. And do you seriously think that major news outlets the size of CNN, Fox News, NYT, Washington Post and the likes can be run with 20 employees? 100 people for 5 major news agencies!?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

No new cases at the point of origin, that could be true due to the infection rate has reached 100. Think of it like this you set a piece of paper on fire, ultimately it is completely consumed and there’s nothing left to burn.

Here in Macau. We practiced very strict social distancing and stayed home. Casinos, parks and cinemas were all closed at an early stage. Meaning they were all shut upon our first domestically transmitted case. We went for ZERO cases for 40 days before students rushed back from Europe this week. So from my experience, I trust the number from China. The western world cannot use either the Singaporean nor the Chinese model of containing COVID-19. Both models require strict measures and self discipline. The western world do not have both. People are still partying on the beaches and hanging at pubs.

As to the expelled Journalists. One of the US media called China "real sick man of Asia." Pls look up the historical value of this insulting term.

I tend to believe Chinese govt on this (btw two new local cases announced today). Why? BeCause of the severely intrusive, invasive and inhumane measures we have been living under for the past two months: I live in beijing, if you check the numbers, it was never really that high. Yet, apart from the sensible measures, here is an example of the extreme measure: every apartment building had been locked down, and unless you give the police and “volunteers” outside your apartment complex your ID, document proof that you own or rent an apart there and the cell tower data to show your past 14 days movement etc. you cannot go back to your own home! I almost got arrested trying to re enter after picking up a delivery for 30 seconds ——imagine the enforcement level of other less intrusive measures. Also this thing has been a god given excuse to up the surveillance, we had no new cases for a while, yet if you want to enter any mall, office building, restaurant, you have to register your ID, phone number, show your 14days movement don’t think the Chinese govt has much incentive to downplay this thing now, when the situation is already contained, be it ten new cases or zero case a day (these things just cannot be hide, e.g. those cry from hospitals for donation of protective gears that we heard a lot in January and feb are gone, masks are back on the shelves at store etc.)
