We've been having problems with clips that appear frozen in the final render and here is the workaround that I have come up with.

AMAZING!!! I was so frustrated by the frozen clip. Tried rendering it out in different sequences in different formats. Interestingly it was also a slow mo clip, 60p modified to 24p. Great job and thanks for sharing, totally worked for me.

Thank you so much! For me, this has been a random hiccup that I've never experienced with drone footage before. I feel like ever since I updated to the latest version of premiere, any time I use adjustment layers to color grade drone footage, Premiere exports a freeze-frame of all drone clips from the sequence. I'd love to know why there are issues, but this is a great solution to get the job done!

THANK gosh, we have tried everything!!! like Jessica we have the same issue with drone footage, it started recently out of nowhere. 4 hours of premiere pro support, 5+ different youtube videos from people all over and no one gave me this simple solution. AND IT WORKED!! you probably saved about 80+ hours of re-editing that I was about to do to all a lot of my videos (Pr 2021 has the issue, 2020 does not) thank you Eric, I will spread the word and give you all the credits. PS I never write any comments but man! so happy that I found this

thanks for the video. I had this problem with multiple clips in a sequence-- ended up deleting my premiere media cache and that solved it.

That tutorial just saved me! Thank you so much. But problems like these really get me considering final cut as an option...

I had a couple clips on my external harddrive. I put everything in premier and exported it to my desktop. Then I started a new project and edited the combined mp4 and now when i export it, it takes the regular amount of time it's supposed to but then the vid comes out to only a few mb. It plays the first few minutes of the video, then video freezes but the timer keeps progressing. What should I do? I clicked on the media on the left panel and duplicated it but when I double click it it opens in the top left menu. It doesn't duplicated the sequence and create a second tab like yours did where you closed the original. Any ideas what I can do to fix this.

Thanks for this hack. I certainly hope Adobe addresses this ASAP. It happens to me randomly with drone clips. Everything was fine until a couple of months ago when this just started happening out of the blue.
