What is the scariest sound you have heard in your life?

It’s crazy what a human being can do to other humans without feeling sorry about it.

The schizophrenia one is scary as hell. Imagine one day starting to listening those hellish voices.

The sound for schizophrenia actually gave me chills big time, I can't imagine hearing something like this at random intervals that can't be predicted

As a person with schizophrenia, I’d say the audio is pretty accurate. I’ve learned to live with it but sometimes it’s really really hard to deal with. Sometimes it’s really hard to differentiate hallucinations from reality.

The most horrifying thing I have ever heard was from a dashcam video. You can't see everything that happened, but you can hear the driver's grief and horror as he screamed at the sight of witnessing the death of his passenger of whom was apparently someone he loved. The video shows a brick fall from a passing truck, as it punched a hole in his windshield, and landed directly into the passenger's face, ultimately destroying her head into unrecognizable horror in an instant. His scream will haunt me forever.

as a firefighter myself who's going into service in a very short time, the pass devices give me huge goosebumps. Hope I'll never have to hear one

One of the worst parts about the Jonestown cyanide was that the parents were forced to watch their kids drink the koolaid first. He waited until most of the kids had died before giving a single adult the drink.

Scariest thing I ever heard was when I recorded myself sleeping, because I wanted to know why I kept waking up with a bad back.
I thought maybe I was sleeping in strange positions, or throwing myself around in my sleep.

On the recording, I could hear the clinking of cups and glasses in my kitchen, and a door opening and closing.
I live in a flat, and my doors are deadbolted from the inside, and there's nowhere for anyone to hide like a hidden room or anything, so I have no idea what the hell was moving around in my home at night.

EDIT: Seems to be a lot of confusion for some reason about this It was a video recording, not a sound recording, so I could see if I was throwing myself around in my sleep. But in the background I could hear those noises coming from the kitchen.

The sirens are mainly used for tornadoes purposes. If you live in the Midwest or some parts of the South you may be used to tornado sirens. They usually sound them for testing but when it's a real deal, it can be even more scary.

The Shirley Ledford torture and murder recording is one of the most depraved things on tape. Shakes my very morals to their core. Got me thinking that maybe revenge torture could be justified in rare instances. I know it's not true but it crossed my mind and I feel dirty about it.

Thanks for not showing the most disturbing videos or sections. I think I tend to get too curious for my own good, too, so if you showed the audio, I would've listened, even though just thinking about that stuff has made me feel uncomfortable. Feeling kinda safe now. Thank you.

Mr. Slav's conclusion in the end made a very vital point that people in the internet should always consider: Just because you can find recording, descriptive information or footage about the real murdering or the tragic incident that involves the integrity of a person, it doesn't mean you should...
Sometimes crude and morbid curiosity can trully affect your perspective about the world and the people that live in it...
I say this, coming from experience... Sometimes I would like to forget somethings that I found on the internet when I was younger and stupider...

I think the scariest thing to hear is when a guy that knows the woods very well. And says “I lived in these woods for years and never heard anything like that”

Completely off topic but I wish you could report or YouTube can delete comments that say “2024 anyone?” On music videos.

I dunno why, but sirens are particularly frightening to me. The wailing siren is the worst I've heard, followed closely by the one they used in Silent Hill (can't recall it's rl purpose). So unsettling.

I like this guy's accent, it's fun.

i just wanna say thank you for actually deafening the sound of screaming and impact at around 10:05 as the sounds of someones final moments can be very haunting and traumatizing for people, yet they still have that morbid curiosity to *try* and hear it.

The recording of the courtroom trial proceeding of the murder of Shirley Ledford has got to be the most chilling. There is a section in the video where one can actually hear the agonising screams of that poor girl as she was being tortured. And hearing that sent enough chills down my spine to thank God that the full audio was deliberately not made public. Just by hearing that small section of the video, one can get a feeling of why so many of the hardened investigators in the case went into PTSD after listening to that inhuman torture.

I find it funny that the attack broadcast warning is delivering a scary message, but the guy delivering it is talking like one of those hotshot guys from 80’s movies.

I was 13 when 9/11 happened & I became a firefighter because of FDNY on that day. Hearing the PASS alarms going off always leaves a pit in my stomach, especially knowing the rescuers heard hundreds of alarms going off until the batteries died, knowing their brothers were trapped.
