HOW TO DO THE CALGARY STAMPEDE

Here are my first-timers tips for the Calgary Stampede. If you don't know, we are a family of expats in Calgary and this is our first year here. So we are exploring Calgary as much as we can with our two small children. Please feel free to share your tips in the comments!

It doesn't look like you were slowed down in any way with the children along, what a busy day! And it was so hot for the Stampede parade, I can understand the kids being done early. I've lived in Alberta for 30 years now and never attended the Stampede as I'm not a lover of crowds. Thanks Lily for letting me tag along with you all and enjoy your day with you!

I bet you and your kids would have LOVED getting to see the actual Rodeo, I hope you take them in the near Future. I wen't for the first ( and probably only time due to the fact I live in Florida, USA) last year and I loved it.

Did you go to the Indian Village? The sharing circle time is like a story time for kids. Did you find the Superdogs? Also a really good show for kids, only about 30 minutes, shows throughout the day.

The only problem with going on the discounted days is the wait for things is incredibly long. I worked at the dog bowl (which is a free show) and on Sunday which was family day we had to turn so many people away cause there just weren't any seats and it was frustrating for everyone
