DAY 2.

Me: Turned 40. Freaked out. Decided to run (with no prior history of running) a minimum of 1 mile every day for one year. Ended up running over a thousand miles in that plus two marathons soon after. Five years later and my daily run habit is now a lifestyle and has been the single most life altering project I have ever undertaken. Doing anything positive daily, no matter how small, will make you "better" / healthier / happier. DO

"until I get bored" is such a healthy mindset. Don't pressure, be curious!

The math nerd inside me is screaming "1% better every day will not make you 365% better! 1.01^365 = 37.78 so you'd be 3678% better, or 37.78 times better, because the 1% each day compounds."
However, if you scale yourself at 100 right now and you get 1 point better every day, then you are obviously correct. I hope you succeed at whichever scaling you intend. And I hope my neuroatypical brain going on this math tangent does not come off as critical, because I truly think you're going to rock it if you want to

Fuck yes everyday videos. But no pressure. Pressure bad. Curiosity and creativity good.

This is really exciting! I'm turning 35 in 4 days and I feel more alive than ever, although there's kind of a sense of urgency to do the things I still wanna do with my life that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Your videos are truly inspiring to me since always, but I must say the one about moving to another city has sparked something in me. I'm planning for this year to get a driver's license, maybe a car and try to get a salary raise to roam as I always had dreamed of but still did nothing about. It doesn't really bother me that I'm doing it only now cause I've just got over a years-long struggle with depression and financial difficulties, so for the first time in my life I feel I've got all it takes to live as I want to. It's amazing to be in the 30s! Wish you can also feel the same joy about this age and that you have a lot of fun with your plan!

That book is so good, it’s one of the few books I keep in my possession in case I need a refresher.

I wanna make stuff, too. For a while. Just cause I can. Not because I have to. But because it interests me. Retraining my brain to fall in love with the process, rather than the end result.

Good starting point. I’m right there with you.

My dad got me onto this book, and it really touched me. Reading about the Buddha can be really tough in terms of challenging established perceptions of life, or even of Buddhism/Buddha himself. But well, the journey is the destination.

Love the plant btw.

Oh wow, that book brings back memories. I read it in high school. And it was published 100 years ago this year, as it happens. Quite a year for books, 1922. Definitely a good blueprint for a discovery journey.

Another "Hero's Journey " is the story that comes with Tarot cards called the Fools Journey. You don't need to get into Tarot cards or anything its just a really interesting story that is mainly about the Major Arcana in the deck. It reminded me a lot of Siddhartha when I learned about it.
