10 rewatches of this scene and I just realised Shaun’s mug in the first plan has “I am a genius” written on it.
In the second plan, his mug has “cool” written all over it.

Part of what makes me love this movie, you think it's just going to go relatively smoothly to stick with the comedy. But the plan keeps going wrong until they do get to the pub and it's nothing like the safe happy place they expected it to be, and then when they start to get comfortable, things REALLY go bad all at once, and instead of working together in their direst moment, start turning on each other. It's probably the realest situation if there is no dictator leader of a group of people, there is always going to be fighting and debating over petty things, and it showed Shaun was slowly becoming a strong group leader, but just a little too late when he has to make a big personal decision and the group rapidly looses confidence in him and panic.
