Voters react to shock West Midlands mayoral result

After the local elections, all the main parties will be looking at the numbers to learn more about the way votes were cast.

While Labour may have been celebrating today, the party also has lessons to digest over its position on the conflict in Gaza.

Labour should ignore the Palestinian issue! It's local elections and they should be dealing with that, not something they have no control of.

I don't understand the people saying they voted for sunak or starmer at local / mayoral elections. That doesn't make sense. It's not a bloody referendum on the general election, which is imminent anyway. Use it based on local governance.
