Dominican Republic: 9 dead in private jet crash

Seven passengers and two crew members were killed after a private aircraft crashed while making an emergency landing at Las Americas Airport in the Dominican Republic's capital Santo Domingo, according to Helidosa Aviation Group - the operator of the plane.

Of the seven passengers killed in a private jet crash on Wednesday, six were foreign nationals and one was Dominican, the plane's operator, Helidosa Aviation Group, said in a statement.

The flight was en route to Florida from La Isabela International Airport in the Dominican Republic when it made the emergency landing, according to Flightradar 24.

The cause of the crash or the emergency landing is not yet known.

Puerto Rican music producer of 'Flow La Movie', José Ángel Hernández was among the nine dead.
