ATV Wheel Alignment - The Easy Way to Adjust the Toe & Align the Front End

If you have handlebars that aren't positioned correctly or you've noticed your ATV not tracking straight, chances are it is in need of an alignment. Whether a part of routine maintenance or you just replaced the tie rod ends, having your ATV's front wheel alignment set up properly is key to having a good handling machine. In this video Charles shows how to adjust the toe and align the wheels on a Yamaha Blaster, but the process shown will be similar for all ATV models.

Do yourself a favor; two ratchet straps, one on each handle going back to the grab-bar and find a point to measure; I used end handlebar to grab bar bracket and THEN adjusted everything. Otherwise you may spend HOURS adjusting it and the handlebar will keep moving; same with cars/trucks; stabilize that steering wheel first so you won't need to take it off and adjust it later.

Good idea about using Rachet straps to hold the handle bar straight and centered. I personally use a string line as a reference from the rear wheel rims to do the front wheel alignment.
I used 2 jack stands one forward and at the rear of my ATV with a string tied to each stand. Keep the string as close to the rim as possible without touching anything.
Take a measurement from the rear of the rear rim and a measurement from the front rear rim and move the front Jack stand in or out till you get a precise even measurement on both the rear and forward rear rim.
Now there is a straight line to adjust the front rim from. I then measure the rear of the front rim and the forward side of the front rim to get the correct toe in. I put an 1/8" toe in. Do the same for the other side.
I also use a piece of cardboard with cat litter under each tire so there's less friction to adjust the toe in.
That's my process, and I have good tracking.

Running a tight string line around all four wheels at axle height while the machine is on the ground at ride height is a better way to align the front wheels with the back wheels & adjust toe in/out angle. The string line method tells you straight away visually how your machine is tracking & what needs to be done if anything.

*Thank you because it's much simpler than what I was expecting, and planning.*
I was going to clamp a pipe to each of the back wheels, measure off that, and adjust until I reached parallel. I'm on a high end Chinese quad, but I doubt the specs are in the manual or online.

Suzuki 750 King Quad has no room to loosen the bolts. What tools do the dealerships use on them. Where a lot of my friends quads tie rids are right out in the open.

What would also work is just measuring the tie rods from ball joint to ball joint. On a warrior its 12.8 inches on each side

Our small quads have really gone “pigeon toed“ & quickly wearing down tires. We followed instructions exactly. It seemed to move the tires as a whole, but STILL pigeon toed…🤷‍♀️ it didn’t adjust the bottom of tires “out” at all! any suggestions..?? We had to have done something wrong! Gave up after 3 hours on ONE tire!🤦‍♀️
